Larrick Reservoir, which has a capacity of 6 million gallons, was constructed in 1965 and is located in the western portion of the SFID service area in the City of Solana Beach.
The building has been designated a California Point of Historic Interest because of its continued relationship to the development of Rancho Santa Fe.
The R.E. Badger Filtration Plant (REB Plant) is a conventional water treatment plant utilizing flocculation/coagulation, sedimentation and filtration to take imported and local surface water sources and treat them for potable use.
The Rancho Cielo Raw Water Pump Station was constructed and completed in 2004 on Del Dios Highway to pump raw water from Lake Hodges directly to the R.E. Badger Filtration Plant.
The Reservoir supplies water for the joint owners, the Santa Fe Irrigation District (SFID) and the San Dieguito Water District (SDWD).
