[ARCHIVED] Proposed Rates for 2023

Water Rates 2023

SFID has released its proposed rates for 2023, and all customers should have received a notice in the mail with details.

The District conducts a cost of service study to evaluate the cost of providing water to customers every few years. This study is done regularly to be transparent with the community about the costs associated with providing a safe and reliable water supply. These costs include purchasing, treating and moving water to customers. The proposed rates include an increase in cost due to the loss of local water supply from Lake Hodges. SFID is not able to take any water from Lake Hodges, our least expensive water supply, because the lake level has been drawn down while the city of San Diego does emergency repairs. These repairs and lowered lake level are expected to continue for the forseeable future.

Public meetings will be held in Rancho Santa Fe and Solana Beach to inform the community on the proposed increase, and to answer any questions. A public hearing will be held on March 28 at 8:30 a.m. to consider adoption of the rates by the Board of Directors. The community is invited to attend and provide comments.
