The Santa Fe Irrigation District
Board of Directors has appointed a new member to join their ranks as a Director
for Division 5. Andy Menshek, a resident
of Solana Beach and a previous board member of the District, is replacing Auggi
Daddi who resigned from the Board on November 1.
Director
Menshek has been a resident of the Solana Beach area for nine years and is a retired Fire Chief. As a Director, he will be finishing out
Daddi’s term which ends in December 2018. Menshek was previously elected to and
served a term on the Santa Fe Irrigation District Board, as well as, four terms
on the Board of Directors of the Padre Dam Municipal Water District in East San
Diego County. In addition to his prior service as a Board member, he also was
elected by and served as the Special District representative on the San Diego
County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).
The Santa Fe Irrigation District
Board of Directors is comprised of five members who are elected to represent
different divisions within the District’s service area. Menshek was appointed following interviews of
candidates during the regularly scheduled Board of Director’s meeting.
With the support of his family, Director
Menshek agreed to take the position of Director and looks forward to representing
the ratepayers in Division 5, and said he wants to focus on collaboration and fairness
for 2018.
