In San Diego County, water travels hundreds of miles from imported sources to local reservoirs and pipelines before coming out of your tap. SFID treats approximately 20 million gallons of water every day at the RE Badger Water Treatment Plant in Rancho Santa Fe, which also holds our certified water quality testing lab. Water is then delivered to thousands of households and businesses in the city of Solana Beach and portions of the communities of Rancho Santa Fe and Fairbanks Ranch. Water is continually tested throughout the treatment process to ensure it is clean, safe and in compliance with state and federal standards. A recent report from a non-profit agricultural organization identified several contaminants within the SFID service area as areas of concern. SFID understands the interest in our community’s water supply and wants to reassure customers that all water delivered in SFID pipelines meet rigorous testing standards set by state and federal regulators. In 2020, SFID ran over 60,000 individual tests that met all regulatory standards. Delivering high-quality water to our customers is a source of pride for our organization and we encourage you to learn more SFID’s water testing and results in our 2020 Water Quality Report
